On December 19, 2018, FPCCT’s Board of Directors had their final meeting of the year and held officer elections. Kara Russell has stepped down as our President. For those of you who don’t know, Kara began this journey with a call to Family Promise’s national office, inquiring as to where she could volunteer in Connecticut. When she was informed that there was not an affiliate in our state, it led her to put together a core group of people to get one off the ground. Through her effort, determination, and ability to motivate a large group of people we have now been open for almost two years. We have had ups and downs but with Heather as our Director and her amazing staff, along with hundreds of volunteers, we are in a great place!
Here are the new Officers of our Board of Directors:
Ed Liedke (President)
Leslie Zoll (Vice president)
David McKee (Treasurer)
Nicole Miller (Secretary)
Here is a message from our newly appointed President, Ed Liedke:
“I humbly move into the president’s role and only hope that I can continue the work that Kara started. I look forward to helping FPCCT continue to grow along with the rest of our board and volunteers. Thankfully, Kara will remain on the Board of Directors to continue this important work of helping children and their families find sustainable, affordable housing. I am sure I speak for everyone involved in Family Promise when I say thank you to Kara for starting this journey!”
