Getting to know Nina Rodriguez

A Community Spirit

On the second day of our Social Distancing Challenge Week #1, we would like to take the opportunity to thank our Program Coordinator, Marlaina “Nina” Rodriguez.

Nina was originally hired as our part time case manager but has become much more.  She currently manages our social media platforms, posts financial transactions and trains and manages our Volunteer Coordinator program…as well as everything in between.  Nina has stepped up her commitment to our families during the pandemic. She has created some wonderful videos to reach out to our volunteers and has done tremendous work for our Coronavirus Emergency Relief Fundraiser all while she continues to maintain “operations as usual” at the Day Center!

On a personal note Nina has a huge passion to help the community through advocacy with many social justice issues.  Nina loves to travel and has been to all 50 states!  Have you ever seen a smirk like the one on young Nina?

Please send her some good thoughts and wishes as she continues her valuable work for us and/or donate to Family Promise in support of Nina’s service to our guest families.

2019 Giving Tuesday

After Black Friday comes Giving Tuesday! On Tuesday, December 3, 2019 Family Promise of Central Connecticut has the chance to get double the donations through Facebook!

Facebook’s match for GivingTuesday 2019 begins at 8:00 AM Eastern Time (5:00 AM Pacific Time) on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.

Donations are matched dollar for dollar on a first-come, first-served basis until $7,000,000 in eligible donations are made on Facebook.

Facebook will match up to a total of $100,000 per nonprofit organization.

Each donor can have up to $20,000 in eligible donations matched on GivingTuesday.

Facebook manages their own payment platform called Network for Good. They cover processing fees so that when we get donations from our supporters on Facebook 100% of your donation goes right to us to aid homeless children and their families.

Family Promise Giving Day 2019

Did you know that one out of every five people who experiences homelessness is a child?  Or, that families with children make up nearly 35% of the people in this country who are experiencing homelessness?  Family homelessness is a national problem that Family Promise addresses through its 200+ Affiliates and 200,000 volunteers.

The week of October 20-27, 2019 we celebrate our Affiliates, volunteers and families with Family Promise Week.  Our local Affiliate, Family Promise of Central CT is one of 200 + programs across the country uniting the faith community to help children and their families who are homeless.  Family Promise Week raises awareness about the issue of homelessness and celebrate the service of our congregation and others to serve our brothers and sisters in need.

Giving Day is October 25th! This is an opportunity to raise vital funds for FPCCT. Please share this link with your family and friends:
