As a part of our end of year appeal campaign, FPCCT is participating in the global giving movement of Giving Tuesday on November 29, 2022!
As you know, Family Promise of Central Connecticut provides vital services to families experiencing housing instability and homelessness in Connecticut. According to state data, over 32,000 households sought housing instability/homelessness services from our state’s social service hotline this year.
We are dreaming of a future where every child has a place to call home. You too can join our efforts to end homelessness one family at a time!
The social media company, Meta, has pledged to match the first $7 million dollars in donations made on Giving Tuesday on Facebook. FPCCT is eligible for those matching funds! If you donate first thing on Tuesday November 29th on Facebook using our campaign link below, your generosity has the chance to be matched dollar for dollar!
This Giving Tuesday, please make a donation and hopefully it can be doubled by Meta’s pledge! Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit our Homelessness Prevention program which is currently serving 23 families.
There will be other ways and opportunities to give during our end of the year appeal campaign! More details will be announced soon!

6th Annual Family Promise of Central Connecticut “Home is Where the Heart is” walkathon is October 9.
New Britain, August 31 — Lace up your sneakers and get ready to step out to help end homelessness as part of Family Promise of Central Connecticut’s 6th annual walkathon taking place October 9.
The walkathon is titled, “Home is Where the Heart is” and will be held at Walnut Hill Park, located at 18 West Main Street in New Britain. The event will benefit Family Promise of Central Connecticut, the New Britain-based nonprofit organization that helps homeless families with children regain their self-sufficiency. It will begin at 9 a.m.
Walk-a-thon participants can sign up online to collect pledges from family, friends, and coworkers. Teams can also be formed to collectively gather donations as a group or organization.
“Every family deserves a place to call home,” Family Promise of Central Connecticut Executive Director Nina Rodriguez explains. “We’re encouraging people to show how big their hearts are and participate in our fundraiser which will benefit children and their families who are facing homelessness.”
The hundreds of volunteers who comprise the non-profit organization, represent 22 congregations throughout central Connecticut. During regular, non-pandemic times these congregations provide overnight accommodations and meals to guest families in the program on a rotational basis — one week at a time. Due to the pandemic and safety concerns, Family Promise of Central Connecticut has instead been concentrating its efforts on keeping families stably housed with their new Homelessness Prevention Program.
Family Promise of Central Connecticut is also requesting assistance for the walkathon from local companies and organizations. Sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations of any size and start at $250. For a donation of $1,000, companies will earn a Heart of Gold designation. Sponsors who donate at the Heart of Gold level will get their organization’s logo on the Family Promise website for a year, social media blasts, and the opportunity to speak at the walkathon.
Walkers and teams can register for free online by visiting the event website at https://walk.fpcct.org . Same day walk registration will also be available in Walnut Hill Park beginning at 9 a.m. behind the band shell. For more information, please contact Nina Rodriguez at admin@fpcct.org.
